Profile
I am a Japanese astronomer who was awarded the degree of Doctor of Science by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan in 2001. My research topics are solar system and planetary sciences, especially, solar system small bodies such as asteroids, comets and meteoroids(meteors) which are thought to be the most primordial objects in the solar system. Current purposes of my research are
(1) Understanding hypervelocity impact phenomena in the planetary atmosphere and on the airless body like the moon,
(2) Understanding the origin and evolution of solar system small bodies and the life in the universe.
